A LETTER FROM LUKE

Beginning at the age of 3, both myself and brother Dane were introduced to the world of athletics, strength training, and "working out". Our father, an avid weightlifter, gym-rat, or whatever you want to call it, was determined to pass this trait down. Eventually, the love and appreciation for strength, athletics, and competitiveness stuck. This love inevitably led to the use of gyms and gym memberships, and with that, a dream of one day owning our own facility where we could provide to other competitors, athletes, and people from all walks a life the benefits that we have been blessed to experience in our years of training.

On September 13, 2024, we (Dane, Katie, Alina and myself) officially broke ground in the planning, construction, and remodeling of the space now called Midway Gym. From painting every inch of the wall, laying new concrete, to measuring out the trim, we spent every free hour we had in a task related to Midway Gym. Throughout this process, I realized that Midway Gym is not only a reflection of us, but also of the town and surrounding area that we call home. Located respectively 10 minutes from the Everson, Lynden, and Ferndale areas, Midway Gym truly embodies the culture of each of these towns. Hard work, no frills, and closely knit, these cultures are truly far and few between. Combining an old-school, blue collar feel alongside state-of-the-art equipment and training opportunities is what I strive for in regard to Midway Gym. The opposite of your standard commercial facility, Midway Gym will be where familiar faces, similar minds, and individually driven people will come to pursue their goals.

I am proud to say that Midway Gym is family owned and operated, self-funded, and in all realness of the phrase, "built by our own hands". Thank you for reading this letter, I am excited to see you at Midway Gym! Work Smart, Train Hard.
